It was to take place in Glasgow, Scotland in November last year with more than 200 world leaders due to attend, but because of the coronavirus pandemic, the conference was delayed until this year. Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 30, 2020 (RSCNPF): Ten (10) individuals have successfully completed the first-ever training workshop for Compliance and Task Force Personnel in Nevis. The newly recruited Task Force members were awarded their certificates of completion during a closing ceremony earlier this week. The ceremony was held at the St. Paul’s Anglican Church Hall in Charlestown where the workshop also took place. Dr Armstrong Alexis of Saint Lucia has been appointed as the new Deputy Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). Dr Alexis takes up his post from 1 November 2021. Dr Alexis was previously at the United Nations Development Programme where he has had a distinguished career in the Caribbean, the Pacific and Africa rising to the level of Deputy Resident Representative in Namibia.
