Glasgow, Scotland (31st October 2021)–St. Kitts and Nevis will be joining the rest of the International Community at the United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow, Scotland from 31st October to 12th November. It was to take place in Glasgow, Scotland in November last year with more than 200 world leaders due to attend, but because of the coronavirus pandemic, the conference was delayed until this year. All poultry and livestock farmers are being invited to a special meeting to discuss important matters with senior officials within the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine Resources on Monday 1st November. Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 30, 2020 (RSCNPF): Ten (10) individuals have successfully completed the first-ever training workshop for Compliance and Task Force Personnel in Nevis. The newly recruited Task Force members were awarded their certificates of completion during a closing ceremony earlier this week. The ceremony was held at the St. Paul’s Anglican Church Hall in Charlestown where the workshop also took place. Like their St. Kitts counterparts, they will either be posted at quarantine sites as security personnel or assist with ensuring compliance with the health protocols that were established last year. Dr Armstrong Alexis of Saint Lucia has been appointed as the new Deputy Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). Dr Alexis takes up his post from 1 November 2021. Dr Alexis was previously at the United Nations Development Programme where he has had a distinguished career in the Caribbean, the Pacific and Africa rising to the level of Deputy Resident Representative in Namibia.
