Job Purpose
The National Security Psychologist is responsible for:
Conducting psychological screening of potential candidates before they are hired
Conducting psychological evaluations of current National Security personnel.
Providing psychological and therapeutic service.
Conducting clinical consultations and diagnostic assessment to National Security workers and their families.
Helping officers cope with trauma and stress through clinical counseling.
Developing counseling programs such as resilience, life skills building and peer counseling.
Academic Qualifications and Experience
Should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, with at least ten years experience working in the field of Psychology or Counseling. The following will be assets:
Training in psychological assessment
Training in grief and trauma
Training in marriage and family counseling
Training in peer mentoring
Salary will be commensurate with the civil servant salary structure in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis and could be personal to holder depending on qualifications. Under certain circumstances, a contract could be negotiated.
