ECSRC Officially Welcomes New Commissioner

At a luncheon held in St Kitts on 6 March, the Eastern Caribbean Securities Regulatory Commission (ECSRC) officially welcomed its newest appointee, Mr Isaac Anthony of Saint Lucia. Mr Anthony, who was appointed by the Monetary Council at its 89th Meeting held on 20 October 2017, replaces outgoing Commissioner, Mr Ambrose M J Sylvester. Mr Anthony’s appointment was effective 1 November 2017.

Mr Anthony is the Chief Executive Officer of CCRIF SPC (formerly Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility) and a former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Economic Planning and National Development in the Government of Saint Lucia. During his over 20 years of service in the Government of Saint Lucia, Mr Anthony held several key senior positions in the Ministry of Finance, including Permanent Secretary, Director of Finance and Accountant General.

As a Commissioner to the ECSRC, Mr Anthony joins Sir Errol N Allen (Chairman) of St Vincent and the Grenadines, His Excellency Ambassador Arthur G B Thomas (Deputy Chairman) and Dr Vincent Richards both of Antigua and Barbuda and Mrs Lucia Livingston-Andall of Grenada, who comprise the five Commissioners of the ECSRC.

The ECSRC was created following the establishment of the Eastern Caribbean Securities Market (ECSM) and is the primary authority for the regulation of participants and activities in the market. The Commission’s overall function is to promote a safe environment for investing on the ECSM.
