The Department of Environment in conjunction with the Department of Marine Resources has installed a Coral Reef Early Warning System (CREWS) Buoy in the vicinity of Sandy Point about 0.75 nautical miles North East of Charles Fort. The buoy will be recording meteorological and oceanographic data that will benefit various end users.
In this regard, mariners and fisher folk navigating within the vicinity of Sandy Point are asked to proceed with caution and stay clear of the buoy to minimize any possible damages.
