Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 25, 2018 (RSCNPF): The important role of Division ‘C’ (Nevis Division) was acknowledged by Commissioner of Police Ian Queeley, at a special meeting held at the Charlestown Police Station on May 23, 2018.

The meeting was convened for Prime Minister and Minister of National Security, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, to meet with the rank and file of that Division.

“The Nevis Division continues to be an integral part of the crime fighting initiatives that we have undertaken and the strategies that we, from a High Command perspective, have sought to put in place to combat [the] criminal activities that have been plaguing us,” Commissioner Queeley said.

He added that results were being sought in every area of the Police Force and explained that the results would be proven when the Police were able to show a continuous downward trend in criminal activity. That trend, according to the Commissioner, should also lead to the elimination of the fear of crime in the community and allow persons to do business feeling safe, as well as to feel secure in their homes.

“So we have to aim to reach that threshold and we cannot do that without your support. We continuously call on you for your support in hard times and in bad times and we also would want to do that in good times,” said the Commissioner.

Commissioner Queeley also used the opportunity to express his appreciation to the Prime Minister who he said has always had a special interest in the Police and has always given great support to what they were doing. Also in attendance were the Honourable Ian Patches Liburd and Deputy Commissioner of Police Hilroy Brandy. The meeting was chaired by Superintendent Trevor Mills who heads Division ‘C’.
