His Excellency The Governor – General, Sir S. W. Tapley Seaton, GCMG, CVO, QC, JP this morning (Thursday 24th) at Government House, received in audience His Excellency Raymundo Ernesto Rodriguez Diaz, Ambassador- designate Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of El Salvador to the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis who presented his Letters of Credence from President Salvador Sanchez Ceren to His Excellency The Governor-General.
Ambassador Diaz who is based at his embassy in Trinidad and Tobago is a seasoned diplomat and has served in various capacities within El Salvador’s Foreign Service at home and abroad. His Excellency Ambassador Rodriguez Diaz has attended Caricom Heads of Government Meetings and the Heads of States ACS Summit. He is also accredited to Barbados, Grenada, The Cooperative Republic of Guyana, The Republic of Suriname, Saint Lucia and Trinidad and Tobago. Saint Kitts and Nevis and El Salvador established diplomatic relations in October 1992.
The Ambassador assured the Governor-General that opportunities are being explored for the strengthening of relations between both countries. During this visit, the Ambassador will be paying courtesy calls on the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
He is accompanied by his wife Mrs. Maria Cristina Guirola de Rodriguez.
