His Excellency The Governor-General Sir S. W. Tapley Seaton, GCMG, CVO, QC, JP returned to the Federation on Saturday last (30th June) after a one (1) week visit to London, England.
His Excellency joined his colleagues from Antigua and Barbuda and Grenanda and former Governor-General of Antigua and Barbuda and Saint Lucia at a Service at St. Paul’s Cathedral to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George.
His Excellency and the other Governors-General were later hosted at a lunch at the Guildhall by members of the City of London Corporation. Their Excellencies also visited the Office of the West India Committee and were briefed on the ongoing work of this Organization which was founded in 1735 and is the oldest body representative of the Commonwealth.
During the absence abroad of His Excellency the Governor-General, the duties of his Office were undertaken by His Excellency Mr. Michael Morton, CBE, JP, Governor-General’s Deputy.
