Dear citizens and residents. The Met Office has indicated to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) that St. Kitts and Nevis has been placed under Tropical Storm Watch. This means that tropical storm conditions are possible within the next 48 hours.
I am therefore urging all residents to remain alert and attentive to all updates and advisories from the St. Kitts Meteorological Services and NEMA.
Additionally, please be reminded that we are still in the peak of the Hurricane Season and as such persons are encouraged to remain in a state of preparedness and to be ready to respond upon instruction from the competent authority.
I wish to advise all citizens and residents to familiarise yourselves with the Emergency Shelter and District Managers Lists which will enable you to gain assistance, when and if necessary.
The St. Kitts Met Services are continuing to monitor Tropical Storm Isaac which is expected to strengthen further before weakening by mid-week as it continues to move towards the island chain. The NEMA will continue to provide the necessary updates as they become available. As a God fearing nation, I seek the prayers of all in keeping our Federation safe.
