“NEDD was established as a creature of the Small Business Development Act, which is the framework set up to deal with the small business sector in the Federation,” said Director of NEDD, Philip Browne while appearing on the Government’s Weekly Programme, “Working For You,” on October 31.
Mr. Browne noted that the Small Business Development Centre will help to ensure that entrepreneurs in the federation are fully equipped with the necessary business tools in order to see a thriving market of small locally owned businesses in the near future.
He reiterated that it is important for small businesses to know that NEDD is there as a ready resource for them to take advantage of and get the support and training they need to start up and continue an existing business.
NEDD also helps small businesses to access financing and duty-free concessions.
“Get all the support that is offered by NEDD and the Small Business Centre (SBDC). You will be doing very well for yourself in the end, your community and your country, ultimately,” he said.
Mr. Browne applauded the efforts of the government in providing access to financial support for small businesses through financial establishments such as the Development Bank, where there are a number of Small Business Loans available for entrepreneurs.
