The Honourable Prime Minister spent the most part of his day working on behalf of the people of St. Kitts and Nevis. This included him making a national address in which he, among other things, announced the payment of an extra month’s salary for all civil servants; participating in a training programme for workers involved in the Skills Training Empowerment Programme (STEP) at the Cayon Community Centre; delivering remarks at a Grants Distribution Ceremony for farmers and fishers at the Department of Agriculture’s Conference Room, and having lunch with the staff of the Office of the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Harris stated that while most of his birthday was spent conducting the people’s business, “I intend to find some time for more quiet relaxation.”
Speaking with the Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister, Dr. Harris expressed heartfelt thanks “to all of the citizens and residents of St. Kitts and Nevis who have, perhaps since last night and early this morning, been calling and contacting via multiple media to express birthday wishes to me. I thank them first for remembering and for their thoughtfulness in expressing their best wishes.”
Prime Minister Harris continued, “It has been a wonderful pleasure to be of service to the people of St. Kitts and Nevis and beyond, and I hope that God would give me good strength, health, wisdom and vision to continue to move our beautiful country and my beloved people of St. Kitts and Nevis forward and upward.”
Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris was born on December 6, 1964.
