The luxury cruise liner, Le Dumont-D’Urville, made its inaugural call to St. Kitts on November 14, 2019.

The Honourable Prime Minister highlighted that Mr. Richards also made a prediction of St. Kitts and Nevis’ tourism sector in the next few years. Prime Minister Harris quoted Mr. Richards as saying, “We will see an increase in the number of cruise ships for St. Kitts.”

The Le Dumont-D’Urville captain, however, is not alone in his opinion of St. Kitts and Nevis’ tourism sector as previously during the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) Operations Committee Meeting on November 04, 2019, the President of the FCCA, Michele Paige, expressed similar sentiment.

Ms. Paige said that within the next three years, the Federation “will have the highest passenger spending in the Caribbean,” showing its improvements and achievements in the tourism sector.

Prime Minister Harris ended by expressing his eagerness for the 2020 tourism season, saying that, “It is exciting that we will be welcoming more tourists from the seas, and from the air as well.”
