POLICE INVESTIGATING ACCIDENT AT NANTON CORNER

Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 10, 2021 (RSCNPF):The Police are investigating a traffic accident that took place in the vicinity of Victoria Road in which two persons were injured. 

The accident occurred sometime after 9 a.m. on November 08, 2021. It involved motor truck P1615 which is owned by Solid Waste Management and was being driven by Deonarine Harrylall. Investigations so far have revealed that P1615 was being pulled by another Solid Waste Management truck towards Charlestown when Harrylall lost control at Nanton Corner. The truck bumped the side wall and ended up several feet away from the road where it overturned. Devon Richardson, who was a passenger in the truck, was trapped inside. Members of the St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services arrived at the scene and helped to extricate him using the Jaws of Life.

Both occupants of the vehicle were transported to the Alexandra Hospital where they are warded in a stable condition. Harrylall suffered injuries to the face and Richardson suffered several broken fingers and a broken wrist.
