VACANCY NOTICE: POLICY AND RESEARCH ANALYST (CABINET SECRETARIAT)

The Human Resource Management Department on behalf of the Cabinet Secretariat wishes to invite persons to apply for the position of Policy and Research Analyst on a full-time basis.

A. Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Draft and present to the Cabinet Secretary, policy briefs on priority topics identified by the Cabinet
  2. Participate in cross-sector meetings related to key issues identified by the Cabinet
  3. Develop and maintain a database of policy professionals and their key discipline areas to provide
    advice on policy recommendations
  4. Assist in monitoring the implementation of Cabinet Decisions
  5. Coordinate cross-ministry policy development to support and ensure the successful
    implementation of the Government’s strategic objectives
  6. Participate in regional and international meetings that enhance understanding of policy
    development, implementation and monitoring
  7. Effectively use regional and international metrics and best practices to guide policy development,
    implementation and monitoring
  8. Draft reports, policy briefs, one pagers and other communications materials that articulate policy
    positions
  9. Provide administrative support to the Cabinet Secretariat and Cabinet Committees, where
    necessary
  10. Perform and assist with any other duties assigned by the Cabinet Secretary

B. Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in public policy, public administration, social science, or other related field.
  2. Graduate degree a plus.

C. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  1. Excellent organisational and management skills
  2. Excellent people and communication skills
  3. Excellent quantitative and qualitative research skills
  4. Strong organisational analysis, issue analysis, problem solving skills
  5. Advanced skills in written and oral communications
  6. Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

D. Salary and Allowances

  1. Basic Salary:K33-K38/K39-K41 (EC$59,340 – EC$83,292per annum)
  2. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications

E. Application Procedure

  1. Applications along with two written references and certified copies of documents pertaining to qualifications should be addressed to the captioned Human Resource Management Department and copied by email to cabinetsec@gov.kn.
  2. The deadline for receipt of applications will be Friday December 30, 2022 at 4:00 p.m.
  3. Only the candidates with the best qualifications and experience will be notified and shortlisted for
    interview on or before January 13, 2023.
