Dr. Hanley said that the government is committed to empowering people as the nation transforms.

“Guided by our shared vision of sustainable growth and development, we have endeavoured to create an environment where every citizen is empowered to rise, flourish and achieve their full potential,” said Dr. Hanley. “Your government’s vision is to resolve to transform St. Kitts and Nevis into a sustainable island state, where prosperity, environmental consciousness and social progress unite in harmony.”

“This afternoon, we come together to celebrate not just a milestone but a vision for the transformation of our beloved nation. Together, we have demonstrated the power of unity and the strength that comes from working hand in hand towards a common vision,” said Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Hanley.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that in the past year, the St. Kitts and Nevis Labour Party Administration has made “significant strides towards the vision” of transforming the Federation into a sustainable island state.

During this transformative journey, several strides were made in the past year to sustainably grow and develop St. Kitts and Nevis. These include but are not limited to, enhanced accessibility and quality through reforms, modern equipment, and skilled professionals in health; remarkable rebound and transformation with prudent policies and strategic partnerships in the financial sector; strengthened security forces for safer communities and citizen protection; revolutionized schools, equipping students for a high-tech world, and the provision of safe, comfortable homes to nurture pride and stability.

Additionally, the government has sought to expand influence and create new opportunities for trade and investment; protect rights and interests; foster a fair business environment; increase power output; give subsidies for electricity; explore renewable energy; nurture talent and celebrate our heritage; empower farmers for bountiful harvests; improve lives with higher minimum wages and better working conditions; forge key partnerships; increase airlift for economic growth; ensure every voice is heard and needs addressed; practice conservation for future generations, and support marginalized members of society.

The National Town Hall Meeting was guided by the theme, “Sustainably Soaring Together: Empowering our Future.”
