The Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC) Board of Governors invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following position at the CFBC:
Dean – Division of Technical & Vocational Education and Management Studies
Summary:
The Dean of Technical Education and Management Studies (TVEMS) reports to the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs. He/she is responsible for providing administrative and professional leadership of the Division in adherence with the CFBC policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and oversight for the college’s technical education programs, including curriculum development, instruction, assessment, and student support services.
- Supervise all faculty and non-academic staff in the Division.
- Ensure that effective teaching and evaluation methods are practiced within the Division.
- Ensure that CFBC policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to by the Division.
- Perform annual evaluations for all staff in the Division.
- Timetable faculty in consultation with the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs.
- Collaborate with other Deans for effective, efficient and economical use of faculty.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of faculty, staff and students.
- Prepare an annual budget for the Division.
- Ensure relevance and currency and the continuous improvement of the academic programs of the Division.
- Work in consultation and collaboration with the senior administration management team to ensure a college-wide perspective on broad institutional matters.
- Represent the college at community events and to state and federal agencies.
Qualification and Experience:
- Master’s degree in a technical field required, Ph.D. or equivalent in a Technical Vocational field.
- Five years or more of administrative/leadership experience in Technical Vocational Education, Community College, or higher education
- 10 years of industry experience in a technical field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with curriculum development, instruction, and assessment
- Evidence of desire and ability to forge partnerships, collaboration and networking internally and externally.
- Experience with budget management
- Expertise in a technical field would be considered an asset.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in a technical community college
- Experience with grant writing and fundraising
- Experience with accreditation processes
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
A successful candidate will be required to demonstrate:
- Intellectual administrative and leadership skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication and computer literacy skills.
- Strong leadership and management skills
- The ability to build and work with teams.
- The ability to think and act creatively, strategically, and tactically.
- The ability to work with senior campus leadership, community affiliates, as well as other internal and external constituencies.

Salary:
