The St. Christopher & Nevis Social Security Board (SSB) invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the post of Chief Financial Officer. The position is tenable in the Head Office in St. Kitts.
About Us:
St. Christopher (St. Kitts) and Nevis Social Security Fund is a compulsory insurance fund established by an Act of Parliament in 1977. It began operations on February 1, 1978, taking over from the National Provident Fund, which was basically a retirement savings scheme with limited other benefits.
JOB PURPOSE
The main purpose of this role is to oversee financial planning, budgeting, reporting while at the helm of the financial operations of the organization. The CFO plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of the organization through strategic decision-making and risk management that are related to the financial aspects of the organisation.
APPLICANTS SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIANCE AND SKILLSETS
- A minimum of a Masters degree in Finance, Accounting or other related field.
- Professional finance and accounting designations such as: ACCA, CPA, or CFA.
- Minimum of at least five (5) years’ experience in the financial field.
- Proven success as CFO or relevant role.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with strong mentoring and coaching experience.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Accounting Software, etc).
- Knowledge of Social Security Regulations will be an asset.
- Good judgment and performs at a high level of integrity and credibility. Must be committed to the organization’s mission and core values.
- Ability to complete multiple tasks to deadlines and perform in a fast-paced environment
- The ability to compile and analyse data to identify trends for decision making purposes.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Develop and execute financial strategies to drive growth.
- Oversee the financial activities of the organization.
- Monitor the strategic plan of the Finance & Investment Division.
- Setting overall targets of the division with the managers.
- Prepare financial analysis as required.
- Assess financial implications of contracts and other project.
- Assess the financial health of the organization and recommend actions to improve.
- Finalize the budget and present to the Board of Directors.
- Provide financial and related support to the CEO and the Board.
- Overall monitoring of the accounting practices based on standards and best practices.
- Research financial and other related information to aid decision-making.
- Responsible for the financial strategy of the organization.
- Prepare financial forecasts for the organization.
- Ensure that the financial statements are timely and meet requirements.
