Continued Growth:   St. Kitts Welcomes First-Time Visit of Carnival Vista

BASSETERRE (19th January, 2017): St. Kitts welcomed for the very first time on Wednesday the Carnival Vista, which has a maximum capacity of 3,934 passengers.

The Carnival Vista is from the Carnival Cruise Line, and is scheduled to make three other calls to St. Kitts in this cruise season.

Minister of Tourism The Hon. Lindsay F.P. Grant was extremely pleased to welcome the Carnival Vista to St. Kitts.

“I have no doubt that the passengers and crew of the Carnival Vista will have a wonderful time exploring the destination, and interacting with our people,” Minister Grant said. “That is why it is so important that I continue to remind stakeholders in the tourism industry to strive to provide the best possible service to our guests, to ensure that we sustain our reputation as the most welcoming Eastern Caribbean cruise destination.”

Last week the St. Kitts cruise sector experience an historic projection of 16,000 visitors in one day from five cruise ships arrival. On Wednesday St. Kitts was blessed with four cruise ship visits with the arrivals of the Celebrity Eclipse, Costa Favolosa, Royal Clipper and the Carnival Vista.

St. Kitts is on pace for another record breaking year in cruise passenger arrivals.

Cruise ships will make a total of 391 calls to St. Kitts in this cruise season, with 16 new ships arriving here for the very first time.

In the last cruise season (2015-’16) cruise ships made 373 calls to St. Kitts, bringing 913,716 passengers, which was the most ever in a cruise season. This cruise season (2016-’17) is expected to be another record breaking season with a projected arrival of 1,125,927 passengers.
