Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 18, 2017 (SKNIS): The Paediatric Assistance League of St. Kitts and Nevis (PALS) and the Ministry of Tourism were awarded monetary contributions by the Christophe Harbour Foundation at a handing over ceremony held at the Pavillion Beach Club at Christophe Harbour on May 18, 2017.

“The Christophe Harbour Development is extremely pleased to continue our foundation efforts. Our foundation focuses on education, youth, health, culture and also tourism,” said General Manager and Vice President of Operations, Jon Gersonde, as he expressed the foundation’s dedication in giving to the community.

The Christophe Harbour Foundation prides itself on giving back to the Federation to improve the quality of life for the citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis, Mr. Gersonde said.

Carlene Henry-Morton, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, accepted the cheque on behalf of the ministry and expressed appreciation.

“We are here to express our sincere gratitude for your generous and tangible support of this particular event” she said, while explaining that the event is very important to the ministry as it gives the ministry  an opportunity to hear from the youth and see what ideas they have to contribute to the sustainability of tourism.

The Pediatrics Assistance League of St. Kitts and Nevis (PALS) is a non-profit organization committed to providing better access to essentially needed medical treatment and health care to the children of St. Kitts & Nevis. Giselle Matthews, President of PALS, spoke briefly on the impact the programme has had thus far. She explained that there are presently 19 cases that they have assisted with for the year, which will help the organization to continue to make a difference.
