RAZO CONSTRUCTION SUPPORTS LOCAL PRISON’S REHABILITATION EFFORTS

Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 21, 2017 (SKNIS): During a brief ceremony held on July 21 at the Razo Construction Head Office, The Razo Construction Company donated two HP Laptop computers and 25 chairs to Her Majesty’s Prison in an effort to further facilitate the government’s rehabilitation initiative.

The Honourable Shawn Richards, Deputy Prime Minister, accepted the donations, noting that they will prove beneficial to the inmates.

 

“Not only are we serious in our crime fighting efforts, but we also recognize that our prisoners must go through a meaningful rehabilitation programme,” said Deputy Prime Minister Richards, as he thanked Razo Construction for its generous donations.

 

“I want to say a heartfelt thank you on behalf of the Government and the people of St. Kitts and Nevis and certainly on behalf of the inmates of Her Majesty’s Prison.”

 

He also said that the donation of the computers will help the inmates with research and rehabilitation training to give them the necessary skills to reintegrate themselves back into society, while he encouraged other businesses in the private sector to assist the government in the fight against crime.

 

“Crime is an issue which affects all of us,” he said.

 

Vice President of Razo Construction, Ryan Mangrum, spoke about the company’s dedication to “positively changing the world” and utilizing the local workforce to achieve its business initiative. He also stated that the company, in efforts to assist the government with its rehabilitation programmes intends to continue to hire former prisoners in order for them to earn an honest living.

 

Superintendent of Prisons, Junie Hodge, expressed his gratitude to Razo Construction for its gifts to the prison as they will greatly assist with the rehabilitation programme through the education of the “residents” (inmates) to better reintegrate them back into society.

 

Andre Phipps, a.k.a. “Magic Man”, Public Spokesman at Winnfm 98.9 expressed his thanks to Razo Construction for answering his call for donations of computers and chairs to the prison.

 

“I am very happy that the Razo Family upon approaching was very happy to donate,” he said.

 

President of Razo Construction, David Di Rienz, noted that it is the company’s absolute pleasure to help the community and give back when necessary, as it is its aim to build a strong company culture that involves caring and helping.

 

The Razo Construction Company’s has vision statement is to “positively shape [our] world- in the environments we create, the partnership we cultivate and the lives we impact.”
