INTRUDERS FOUND IN HOUSE; ONE SHOT BY POLICE AND THREE (3) OTHERS TAKEN INTO POLICE CUSTODY

Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 9, 2017 (RSCNPF): On Monday 9 October 2017 about 1:50 pm, Police responded to a report that intruders were in a house at Fig Tree, Nevis and found the intruders in the house.

24 year old Sheldon Hawker of Burden Pasture suffered a gunshot injury by the Police, and he was transported to the hospital for medical treatment, he is in stable condition. A 19 and 18 year old males, and a 14 year old female were also in the house. A large quantity of Marijuana was found in the house by the Police. The illegal drugs and the intruders were taken into police custody, along with items of evidential value. The scene was processed by Crime Scene Technicians, investigation ongoing.

 

Deputy Commissioner Hilroy Brandy stated that, “parents need to encourage their children to avoid being involved in crime and associating with criminals. These behaviours will only lead to the deterioration of the normal state of society.”
