BASSETERRE (12TH Dec., 2017): Santa Clause arrived extra early to St. Kitts this year with the help of the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) in collaboration with the St. Kitts Tourism Authority.

The FCCA’s Holiday Gift Project was held on Sunday in the Independence Square, with Santa Clause and his helpers arriving on the cruise ship, Allure of the Seas.

Santa Clause then his made his way through the streets of Basseterre on a donkey, with motorists blowing their horns, and pedestrians clamouring for pictures.

After Santa made his grand entrance at the Independence Square, children lined up to sit on his lap to recieve their gifts.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, Nick Menon, said  that the Holiday Gift Project is a FCCA initiative to provide gifts to children in foster homes or institutions. The gifts are delivered on member lines’ vessels to the destinations where the children enjoy a holiday party in their honor.
“We are so thankful for the FCCA Member Lines, and in particular the crew of the Allure of the Seas, who ably assisted Santa in distributing these gifts,” Menon said. “We at the St. Kitts Tourism Authority are honored and privileged to be a part of this project to bring joy into the lives of some of those who could use a little cheer, especially at this special time of the year.”

This year more than 33 destinations will participate in the program, with over 7,000 children expected to receive holiday gifts throughout the Caribbean and Latin America.
