BASSETERRE (21ST Dec., 2017):  A historic 14 cruise ships will visit St. Kitts in two days, with seven ships on Christmas day and another seven on Boxing day.

Christmas Day and Boxing day will tie for the most cruise ships to visit the destination in a day.

Arriving on Monday 25th December is the Adventure of the Seas, Costa Pacifica, Seabourn Odyssey, Crystal Esprite, Sea Cloud II, Caribbean Princess and the Jewel of the Seas.

On J’Ouvert the following ships are scheduled to arrive: Crown Princess, Freedom of the Seas, Seabourn Sojourn, Arcadia, Wind Surf, Sea Cloud II and Serenade of the Seas.

Minister of Tourism, The Hon. Lindsay F.P. Grant, said seven arrivals in one daywill be remarkable, and in back to back days, will be extraordinary.

“This is indeed a perfect way to end an unparalleled year of new highs in our tourism industry,” Minister Grant said. “This trend of remarkable growth will only continue if we all do everything in our power to ensure a welcoming, memorable and enjoyable experience to each cruise passenger.”

2017 has indeed been a remarkable year for St. Kitts Tourism with the grand opening in November of the new Park Hyatt St. Kitts Christophe Harbour, the Caribbean’s first Park Hyatt. Also, the 2016-’17 cruise season ended with a record setting arrivals of 988,238 passengers. St. Kitts also launched a brand new official website, keeping with the latest trends in technology, and features a mobile-first design, immersive photo and video content and an improved user experience overall.

Cruise ships are scheduled to make more than 100 cruise calls to the island in December, with most days comprising of a minimum of three cruise ships. This cruise season is projected to bring more than a million passengers to St. Kitts.
