Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 26, 2017, (RSCNPF): The High Command of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force was out on Christmas Day spreading Christmas cheer to the officers on duty. Commissioner of Police, Ian Queeley, visited every police station in the Federation, as well as police barracks, the Immigration Department at the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport and the Telecoms Unit at the Basseterre Police Headquarters.

Commissioner Queeley set off for Nevis early Monday morning. When he arrived, he was joined by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Hilroy Brandy and  Divisional Commander for Nevis (District ‘C’) Superintendent Trevor Mills.  When he returned to St. Kitts, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Terrence James, accompanied him while he made the rounds on the island.  The High Command delivered bottles of sparkling cider, donuts, turkey and ham to the police officers who would not be able to spend the day with their families and friends because they had to work. Commissioner Queeley told the officers that the High Command appreciated the hard work they had put in during the year and wanted them to recommit themselves to the task in the New Year.

“We know that while other persons are out having their Christmas breakfast and lunches, police are on the job and so the High Command has decided that, this year, instead of just cookies, we will bring turkey and ham so that [even] while they work they will feel the Christmas Spirit,” Commissioner Queeley said.

“So remember, you’re not just here to make a living, you’re here to make a difference…” the Commissioner said, adding that the police men and women of St. Kitts and Nevis had, in fact, been making a difference in making St. Kitts and Nevis a safer place.
