Updated Nursing Dress Code Policy Across Health Institutions
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis, August 16, 2023, [Ministry of Health] – In an effort to modernize our health institutions, a significant update to the nursing dress code became effective in the month of August.

The updated policy removes the requirement for Nurses to wear caps and belts as part of their daily uniforms. These uniforms will now be reserved for ceremonial purposes only. This initiative marks the beginning of a series of changes that will culminate with the institutional-nursing staff transitioning to industry-standard scrub-style uniforms.

The public and patrons of our health institutions are kindly asked to take note of these changes. As the uniforms evolve, we urge visitors to differentiate members of the nursing staff using their staff IDs.

This proactive approach is a part of the rigorous accreditation process that the Ministry has undertaken. As we continue our commitment to excellence in healthcare, stakeholders can anticipate similar progressive improvements in the coming months.

We appreciate the public’s understanding and support as we implement these changes, ensuring our health institutions remain at the forefront of both patient care and employee welfare.

About the Ministry:
