Description of Post: |
Duties and Responsibilities • Work with Program Managers to coordinate program planning and development for business process review and optimization workstreams • Oversee the delivery and coordination of business process review and optimization across government departments • Lead in the areas of business process best practices, change management and communication relative to business process review and optimization • Interface with Program or Policy Managers and Directors in other Service areas, as well as with Heads of Departments (HODs) to drive agile decision-making • Collaborate with program managers to design and embed common portfolio governance processes, tools and reporting requirements • Design, embed and maintain governance processes and artefacts related to business processes • Review and refine existing business processes • Work with program managers to support the development of program financials and evaluation metrics • Work with program managers to support program plans, dependencies, risk and issues, and coordinate corrective actions • Identify maturity gaps and provide best practice coaching/training related to business process transformation • Take ownership of the stakeholder engagement plan • Track the status, risks, issues, plans and dependencies and drive quality assurance related to business process engineering and optimization • Take ownership of reporting, communications and updates to leaders and partners • Support the development of overall transformation business case and specific business cases related to business process transformation • Act as a key point of contact between service leaders and process transformation workstreams, including consultants • Help drive focus and ensure activities are being managed to plan • Provide hands-on delivery support within specific projects as required • Assist with external collaboration with customers, consultants and other stakeholders, if required • Any other duty that may be assigned. |
Skills and Competencies • Good understanding of project management methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall • Excellent leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire and motivate others at all levels of the organization. • The ability to set a clear and inspiring vision for the organization’s future, along with a strategic plan to achieve it • Strong strategic thinking and a track record of successful long-term planning and execution • Ability to create and manage project plans, define project scope, and identify project risks and mitigation strategies • Excellent leadership and conflict-resolution skills • Strategic thinking with the ability to align program goals with broader organizational goals • Good understanding of financial and budget management principles, including reporting • Excellent at data analysis and critical thinking • The ability to engage with the media and represent the organization to local and international publics • Unwavering commitment to ethical conduct and integrity in al their dealings • Highly adaptable and resilient to be able to deal with scope changes and setbacks • Strong decision-making abilities, even under high-pressure situations |
Education and/or Experience: The Applicant must have the following skills: • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Project Management or related field • At least 3 years of experience in project management, leadership or a relevant field • Advanced degrees and certifications will be an asset |
