Solid Waste Management Corporation Expresses Condolences on the Passing of Mr. Alphonso Bridgewater

Bassetere, St. Kitts – It is with profound sadness that the Solid Waste Management Corporation (SWMC) announces the passing of Mr. Alphonso Bridgewater, our esteemed former and first ever, General Manager. Mr. Bridgewater passed away on Wednesday 10th April 2024, after a distinguished career and dedicated service to our organization.

Mr. Bridgewater was a pioneering figure within our corporation, having been with us since our inception and serving as General Manager for several decades. His leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to excellence played an instrumental role in shaping the SWMC into the respected entity it is today.

During his tenure, Mr. Bridgewater spearheaded numerous initiatives that significantly advanced sustainable waste management practices in our community. His dedication to environmental stewardship and operational efficiency set a benchmark for all who followed in his footsteps.

Beyond his professional contributions, Mr. Bridgewater was a beloved colleague and mentor to many within the SWMC family. His kindness, wisdom, and warm demeanor endeared him to all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

The loss of Mr. Bridgewater is deeply felt by the entire SWMC community, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.

The SWMC is forever grateful for Mr. Bridgewater’s lasting impact and legacy. His memory will continue to inspire us as we carry forward his vision of environmental sustainability and community service.
