MINISTER OF STATE, HON. WENDY PHIPPS, TO ADDRESS NATION TONIGHT ON THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE JNF HOSPITAL IN ST. KITTS

Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 14, 2017 (SKNIS): Minister of State with responsibility for Health, Senator the Honourable Wendy C. Phipps, will deliver an official ministerial address in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Joseph Nathaniel France (JNF) General Hospital in St. Kitts on December 14, 2017.

The address will be carried on ZIZ Radio (96 FM) tonight Thursday, December 14, at 8:00 pm and on Friday, December 15, at 7:30 am and 12:30 pm.

Today marks 50 years since the JNF Hospital was handed over to the Government on December 14, 1967, while March 10, 2018, will make 50 years since the institution opened its doors to the public on March 10, 1968.

The staff of the Institution-Based Health Services, spearheaded by an Anniversary Committee, has planned several activities to celebrate this important milestone under the theme “Fifty years of progress, Fifty years of endurance, Fifty years of quality health services”.

Activities include a Church Service at the Zion Moravian Church, Victoria Road, on December 14, 2017; Open Day at the JNF General Hospital on December 15, 2017; Fun Day at Flow Grounds onJanuary 13, 2018; Symposium on January 20, 2018; and Staff Reception Awards Ceremony at Government House on March 10, 2018.
