Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 4th, 2023: The Leadership of the Ministry of Health is committed to improving healthcare delivery in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. A number of inherited issues have been identified that require immediate action.

The Ministry has been empathetic and accommodating in its response to these issues and will not allow the positive changes that have been made over the last six months to be diminished.

“Stabilization and transformation must take place simultaneously so changes must and will take place to ensure better health care and better outcomes for our patients,” said Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health Dr. Sharon Archibald. “The Ministry would like the general public to know that both Emergency Rooms at the Joseph N France General Hospital and the Pogson Medical Center in Sandy Point are covered 24/7 by doctors alongside the nurses.”
