Washington, D.C., USA, March 6, 2023: The St. Kitts and Nevis Nationals Association of Washington, D.C. (SKNNADC), recently delivered on their promise to assist the Joshua Obadiah Williams Primary School, which was destroyed by fire in March 2022, by donating a large amount of school supplies to the institution. The supplies include a laminator, a guillotine, flash drives, exercise books, pens, pencils, rulers, markers, folder, folder leaves, tapes, dusters, crayons, geometry sets, erasers, paint brushes, glue guns, glue sticks, scissors, posters, hand sanitizers, disinfectant sprays, and graduation gowns. The funds to purchase these supplies were raised through an Independence Charity Walk which was held on September 17, 2022 by the SKNNADC, and donations via a GoFundMe page.
President of the SKNNADC, Mrs. Corrine Mussington-Archibald, shared, “Our Association is extremely delighted that we were able to fulfill our commitment to the Joshua Obadiah Williams Primary School. We know that things have not been easy for the staff and students since the March 2022 fire, but we pray that this gift of supplies, will help to provide hope and inspiration, and enhance and improve the learning environment, for both teachers and students. We extend our profound gratitude to all who contributed to this worthy cause.”
Principal of the Joshua Obadiah Williams Primary School, Ms. Suzette Cannonier, expressed gratitude to the SKNNADC, stating, “We express heartfelt appreciation to the SKNNADC for the generous donation of essential school supplies. Your support has helped us immensely to have some semblance of a normal school environment. We are so thankful for this timely support. Thank you for your partnership.”
The SKNNADC is currently making preparation to host several activities throughout the year to support nation-building and to promote St.Kitts and Nevis, as the country prepares to celebrate its 40th Independence Anniversary on September 19, 2023. Nationals living in the Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia areas are encouraged to connect with the Association at www.sknnadc.org.
